Hmmmm, interesting. While I don't want to play down what, I'm sure, is a violent and scary moment for some people, it is also interesting to note the discrepancy between the lived reality in Latin America and the reported imperialist view of what is happening. It is so easy to other, pity, and critique other governments when the only frame you get is the sensationalized version reported by the media. Brandon and I are hoping to visit grandma and grandpa while you and Michael are in town. I will be eager to hear more about how this turned out (and all of your other interesting stories). Cuidate.
